The 2016 Focus

The 2016 Imaging in 2020 meeting will focus on the recent explosion in the use of molecular imaging for diagnosis, surgical guidance and therapy. As we move toward adopting minimally invasive technologies such as endoscopic, laparoscopic and robotic surgery, molecular imaging with fluorescence provides enhanced visual definition between diseased and normal tissue for improved surgical outcome. In real-time, surgeons can be equipped with clinically relevant physiological information that is critical to the success of the procedure, avoiding post operative complications and repeat procedures. Imaging in 2020 will bring together experts in each of these promising areas of research to highlight how imaging on a molecular level will advance novel theranostic strategies.
